What a fulfilling experience/journey you've been on! thanks for dedicating the time to share in such detail. Reading has been an inspiration. When E is old enough to understand, I'd love to pack him up and take him with me to a place such as Bahia and of course all of the other beautiful places you've shown that S. America has to offer.

Welcome back for the time being and feel free to share your salmon/sweet potato recipe!

ohmygod, similar experience camping in the desert in AZ a few years ago; mystery THING scratching at the bottom of the tent all night. i did not sleep more than an hour and somehow held my bladder until day light, when i jumped out of the tent. i was positive we pitched it on top of a scorpion, lizard or unearthly spider's den. creepiest night of my life, hands down. swarms of mice sound just as nerve-racking.

here's to surviving things that go bump in the night!

Glad the Tool got you through the long treks! Also, yay for no one having a mishap while hiking like I did when we were at Devil's Lake. I was nervous reading your story about the loose gravel.

Your travels look amazing, I love the posts! Stay healthy and happy! See ya in a few months :)

I will not lie... the beginning of this post is absolutely absurd. I would have been deeply troubled by that sight as well. The waterfalls look amazing. I can't even imagine how liberating that must of felt. Keep the good stuff coming.
